BMW To Launch 2014 X5 On May 29

The 2014 BMW X5 will be launched in India on May 29 as per news report on ETAuto.com. BMW will launch the X5 30d variant and is expected to be priced at INR 60-70 Lakhs. The X5 will be imported in India via the CKD (Completely Knocked Down Kit) route.

The X5 30d boasts of 3.0L 6-cylinder Diesel Engine which produces a mammoth 258hp of power and 560Nm of torque. The X5 sports 255/55 section tyres on 18-inch wheels. BMW claims the top speed to be 230kmph, which is limited electronically, and can accelerate from 0 to 100kmph in 6.9 seconds. The X5 weighs a heavy 2,145 kgs on empty load.

The X5 will face tough competition from Mercedes Benz ML class, Audi Q7 and Land Rover Discovery and Porsche Cayenne.
