After the launch of Audi R6 Avant, the German luxury car maker Audi India is set to launch the facelift model of one of its best-selling SUVs, the Q3,  on 18 June this year.  The Audi Q 3 has been among the highest grosser for Audi in terms of sales and thus, undoubtedly an important product from company’s line-up. The entry–level SUV first arrived in India in 2012 as a completely built unit (CBU). However, the German luxury carmaker started locally assembling the Q3 next year i.e. 2013 at its Aurangabad facility.

Let us see the expected changes that the company has implemented in the facelift of Q3.

On the front fascia, Audi’s signature single slat front grille finished in satin chrome takes the centre stage. Audi calls it the 3D effect singleframe grille. The new grille merges seamlessly with the headlamp cluster and seems in-line with Audi’s latest design philosophy for the Q-range of SUV, unlike the outgoing model. The same will be witnessed in the upcoming second generation of Q7 in India too. The headlamp cluster remains similar to the outgoing SUV. Internationally, the Q3 comes with Xenon plus technology coupled with LED daytime running lights as standard. The Indian facelift version also gets the LED head-lamps. Except for the new set of alloy wheels, the side profile remains unchanged.

The rear is offered with subtle changes on the bumper though no other big changes have been affected at the rear. The tail lamp cluster continues to be same but gets new LED graphics dynamic turn indicators, a feature we have already seen in the R8 and the A8.

Coming to the interiors, the Audi Q3 facelift features minor changes to the colour scheme though the model continues to offer the dual toned grey and beige combination. What looks more attractive is the new aluminium finish inserts instead of the previous wooden ones. Audi has paid attention to minor in-cabin detailing and has worked upon giving chrome finish at many places. A new instrument cluster with an updated MMI infotainment system awaits the consumers in the 2015 Q3 Audi facelift.

Under the hood, the SUV will continue with the 2.0 litre 35TDI motor that churns out 174bhp of power at 4200rpm with a peak torque of 380Nm at 1750-2500rpm. The engine comes mated to a 7-speed S-Tronic transmission and as usual, the SUV will offer Quattro all-wheel-drive system.

The expected price of facelift model is Rs.34 lakhs.
