Maruti Suzuki YRA Premium Hatchback Coming Soon
Maruti Suzuki has been spotted testing its new premium
hatchback car codenamed YRA. This new premium hatchback will sit above Maruti
Suzuki Swift. The Maruti Suzuki YRA will
be equipped with the same 1.2 litre K-Series Petrol engine & 1.3 litre DDIS
Diesel engine options. The front styling of YRA is similar to Swift. It should be a sub 4-meter vehicle.
The YRA will be lighter than Swift by around 90 kgs but it
will be considerably longer. This will yield lightweight manufacturing processes
similar to Ciaz.
Maruti Suzuki will be competing will the recent success-Hyundai
i20 Elite and Honda Jazz which is yet to be launched. This car will be available
in India by the end of this year according to sources.
Maruti Suzuki has been testing YRA at various locations. No
official name has been given to YRA, but it is expected to be little different
than current Maruti Suzuki products. The
pricing will be competitive.
