Suzuki Launches GSX-S1000 And GSX-S1000F In India

Suzuki Motorcycle India today unveiled its  much-awaited sports bikes GSX-S1000 and GSX-S1000F in the country at Rs. 12.25 lakh and Rs. 12.70 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) respectively. 

“The GSX-S1000 is a naked roadster with an aggressive look, while the GSX-S1000F is its fully faired sibling. Their supersport genes deliver smooth, controlled handling and dynamic acceleration. We are launching these models globally and in India at the same time so that Indian motorcycle enthusiasts can lay their hands on the latest, top of the line Suzuki products. These motorcycles cater to the rider who wants a performance street motorcycle. These sport roadsters have expanded our already diverse big motorcycle lineup” said Mr. Atul Gupta, Executive Vice President, Suzuki Motorcycle India Private Ltd.

Suzuki GSX- S1000F

Both GSX-S1000 and GSX-S1000F have inherited the engine of the GSX-R1000, which happens to be a 999 cc, 4-stroke, liquid cooled, DOHC, in-line, four cylinder motor that pushes out 144 bhp and 105 Nm of torque. Added to the mix is an advanced & lightweight chassis, 43mm inverted KYB forks, radial mount monoblocbrembo brakes and a multi-information instrument cluster.

Both the siblings have same specs the only difference is in height and curb weight. The GSX-S100F is 100 mm higher and 5 kg heavier than GSX-S1000.

Some other bikes in 1000cc category are Honda CBR1000RR also known as Fireblade available in the market with the price tag of  Rs. 13,25,781, Yamaha YZF-R1( Rs. 10,50,000), Kawasaki Ninja 1000 ABS (Rs. 11,00,000) and Triumph Sprint GT 1050 (Rs. 13,40,000.). These bikes can give strong competition to the new GSX siblings.
