Ford India Expands Retail Distribution of Genuine Parts | Appoints Distributor for Maharashtra & Goa

Autoji Ford Parts, Ford’s exclusive distributor based in Pune, has started retailing Ford Genuine service parts to retailers and independent repair shops. Inaugurated by N Prabhu, Vice President - Ford Customer Service Operations, the 2,000 sq. ft. facility is located at 17/8, D1 Block, MIDC Chinchwad, Pune and will help Ford streamline its parts supply network in Maharashtra and Goa.

Ford plans to expand the retail distribution of Ford Genuine parts to Gujarat, Rajasthan and Eastern India in the next phase. The move is a part of Ford India's strategy to target the mass market. The expansion on the parts and service front is essential to improve its after sales reputation, which isn't as good as that of brands like Maruti.

Alongside expansion in the retail distribution of Ford Genuine Service Parts, some other key initiatives undertaken by Ford in ensuring customer convenience include:

• Sub Assembly Levels for Repairs: The ‘Sub Assembly Levels for Repairs’ enables a substantial saving in the overall ownership costs by breaking up an auto part into sub-components. 
• Ford’s latest offering Figo Aspire offers unparalleled ownership experience with close to 850 parts available under sub-assembly
• Localization & Competitive Parts Pricing: Ford has worked with supplier base to attain increased levels of localization on the products, thereby achieving competitive price points while maintaining high quality.
• Ford’s Happy Pockets Service: continues to be an important CoO initiative that allows Ford car owners to avail and experience Ford’s quality service starting at just Rs. 2,199
• Ford Vehicle Personalisation Centre: The centre provides customized vehicle Personalisation options to customers to make their Ford cars look ‘distinctly theirs’. 
• Ford is the first automaker to bring customization to the mass market. Such options are usually restricted to high-end luxury cars. The option is currently available on Ford EcoSport.
